What Is a Daily Number Puzzle?
A daily number puzzle gives you one fresh number challenge each day — the same puzzle for every player worldwide, solved by logic rather than luck or vocabulary.
Play today’s puzzleOverview
A daily number puzzle is a single, self-contained number game released once per day. Everyone who plays on the same calendar day (counted in UTC) gets exactly the same grid and target, which is what makes it a shared daily ritual: you can compare results with friends because you all faced the identical challenge.
In NumberFlow the daily puzzle is a digit grid plus a target number. You connect a path through adjacent cells — up, down, left or right, never reusing a cell — so that the digits on your path add up to exactly the target. There are no words and no language barrier, so the game plays the same anywhere in the world.
The key property of a good daily number puzzle is that it is solvable by pure reasoning: every NumberFlow puzzle is verified before it ships to have exactly one solution path reaching the target. Luck never decides the outcome — the same logical search always wins.
Strategy & tips
- Start from the target, not the grid: figure out which combinations of cell values can even reach it before you draw.
- Because positive digits only add up, once your running sum passes the target that route is dead — back up immediately.
- There is exactly one answer, so every cell you can prove must (or cannot) be on the path narrows the search fast.
Worked example
A step-by-step solve showing how to find the one path that reaches the target. (This is a small teaching grid — the daily puzzle is larger and changes every day.)
Target 17. The numbers in the highlighted cells show the connect order. We need an adjacent path of cells whose digits total 17 in this 3×3 grid.
- Step 1. The big digits are the 6 (bottom-middle), the 5 (center) and the 4 (top-right). To reach 17 we will almost certainly need the 6 and the 5.
- Step 2. Start at the top-right 4 and step down to the 2 below it (running sum 6).
- Step 3. From that 2, step left into the center 5 (running sum 11).
- Step 4. From the center 5, step down to the 6 (running sum 17). Four cells — 4, 2, 5, 6 — connect and total exactly 17. Solved.
FAQ
- What time does the puzzle change?
- A new puzzle unlocks at midnight UTC. Everyone worldwide sees the same grid and target for that UTC day, so the page shows the date in UTC to avoid confusion.
- Do I need to know English to play?
- No. NumberFlow is a number-path puzzle solved by adding digits, so there is no vocabulary involved — it plays identically in any language.
- Is it ever unsolvable or down to luck?
- No. Every daily puzzle is verified before it ships to have exactly one solution path reachable by logic alone. There is no guessing.
- Can I play past puzzles?
- Yes — recent days are available in the archive to replay, and each replay reproduces the exact same puzzle from that day.
